Nothing looks like wood like wood! Kits are precision laser cut wood and the detail parts are made of white metal. There are fixtures included that help align the stakes on the sides and the frame on its subfloor. This makes for quick and accurate assembly. #356 Weights can be bought separately that add another 1 ounce for better tracking. They are hidden under the deck of the car.
The gondola we have designed does not follow a specific prototype but is patterned after the many styles of narrow gauge cars found around the country in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Decals, trucks, and couplers are not included.
